DM73 - Local Green Space

We are pleased to see the designation of the Old Quarry, Wrington Hill, and the Church Walk Play Area and associated amenity area/field as Local Green Space in relation to policy DM73 and Schedule 5.

However, in our response to the emerging Sites & Policies DPD we requested that land in Redhill at the junction of Church Road with the A38 is similarly designated (see plan previously supplied). It is disappointing that this wasn’t taken forward, irrespective of its location in what is now described as countryside. This land is privately owned but maintained by and on behalf of the community. It is a valuable public green space in Redhill and warrants protection. Note that there is a recent precedent for change of use with a small area of Green Belt agricultural land nearby being given permission for conversion to a private garden, hence our concern. In the circumstances, we object to the fact this land has not been designated as requested.
