Policy DM48: Strategic Gaps

Origin3 objects to Policy DM48. It finds its practical expression on the Proposal Map but is premature in relation to its linkage with Policy CS19, one of a number of policies remitted to the Planning Inspectorate for re-examination following the partly successful challenge to the Core Strategy. We consider the width of the strategic gap to the north of Weston Parklands to be excessive, and given the importance of suitably located land near junction 21 for business purposes, the strategic gap may well be inimical to the Council’s own objectives and other policies in relation to employment growth. Once again this policies and its particular expression on the Proposals Map is prejudicial to continuing negotiations on the planning application.
