The consultation on the housing allocations is premature given that the scale of housing that it
seeks to allocate sites to achieve is undetermined as a result of the recent High Court Judgement in
respect of the Core Strategy. However, notwithstanding this, we believe that the sites identified in
Appendix 1 are both suitable for residential development.

W1-Woodborough Farm, Winscombe, and BL1-Bleadon Quarry
These allocations are located within flood zone 1 if the sites are greater than 1hectare then a specific FRA considering surface water drainage is required.

I am opposed to the development on woodborough farm as it is too large for the village. To build 100 + houses could possibly bring 200+ cars to an already busy village. Last years rainfall saw extensive flooding on church rd and woodborough road and the proposed site. The pasture land dates back to medieval times and should be preserved. It is enjoyed by walkers, wildlife and families and would be better kept as feilds for an already busy community

Policy W1 Woodborough Farm, Winscombe
We support in principle the identification of the mixed-use allocation at Woodborough Farm. It is a sustainable location with the Strawberry Line providing a safe and convenient route to the Village Centre and as such is the most sustainable, undeveloped location in Winscombe. However, we consider there should be flexibility and a range of uses to be located on the land and in particular the suitability of the site could be one use which needs further inves

I object to the Sites and Policies Development Plan proposal to develop the Woodborough Farm, Winscombe for the following reasons:
A major development of 100-150 will greatly detract from the area's status as an AONB
Any industrial development is inappropriate for such a village location
The existing village infrastructure, schools, medical facilities etc is already fully stretched, with no room for expansion
Access to the site is inadequate. And extra traffic would exacerbate the existing p

I object to the Woodborough Farm development for the following reasons;
a) Access to and from the site is potentially dangerous, whether from Woodborough Rd. or Church Rd.. The latter already becoming a noted 'rat run' to the A38.
b) The fields do become very waterlogged and flooding is a concern as attested by many respondents.
c) Winscombe is a village and not a town and therefore 'industrial development' would not be appropriate.
d) Services are very limited, viz Schools, parking, ameniti

I would like to register my objection to this proposal. The site is not suitable for development for a number of reasons. The land is prone to flooding and in recent months the main road at the north end of the area has been flooded for days due to the inability of the drainage to dissipate water at the necessary rate. More properties would exacerbate this. Also the extra vehicular traffic that the deployment of this proposal would bring would make the surrounding roads more congested and less s

I attended the consultation at Winscombe Community centre last month. I
have a few thoughts about this the proposed development. I am a residen
of The Lynch in Winscombe so will obviously be directly affected if it
takes place.
Firstly I wonder about demand for such building. Winscombe has a good
infrastructure and is a pleasant place to live. There are few if any
jobs locally so that new residents would need to commute to work. The
road to Weston is already unable to cope with the curren
