Reasoned justification
The continued consultation in this Sites and Policies Plan on many policies including policy DM 13, 20, 33, 34, 48,50, 51,71,72,73 and SCHEDULEs 1 & 2 is inappropriate, following the decision of the High Court to remit strategic policies within the Core Strategy 2012. Policy DM71: Protection of sporting, cultural and community provision
- The interactive site allocations map incorrectly states the proposed new Clevedon hospital site allocation at Millcross has been carried forward from the (adopted) Replacement Local Plan. Planning permission was approved for the site in 2010 following a site selection process by the NHS which took place after the Replacement Local Plan was adopted.

COMMENT - Protection of Sport & Recreation including playing fields
Policy SP1 - Presumption in favour of sustainable development
Policy DM71 - Ensuring safe & healthy communities
Sport England acknowledges that the NPPF is promoting "sustainable development" to avoid delays in the planning process (linked to economic growth) and this is reflected in Council Policy SP1. Thatsaid, the NPPF also says that for open space, sport & recreation land & buildings (including playing fields) paragraph 7

Thank you for your letter of 22 February, received 4 March, consulting The Theatres Trust on the draft Sites and Policies Plan document.
We support Policies DM71 and DM72 in principle as it is important that venues are available to enable participation in cultural activities for intrinsic and instrumental value to an individual and for communities by bringing people together.
Local facilities, whether publicly or privately owned, can be subject to development pressures
