I strongly support the designations of Strategic Gaps under policy DM48. In particular I support the protection of the gaps between Nailsea and Backwell and between Yatton and Congresbury. Both areas identified fulfill a vital role in enabling the settlements on either side to maintain an integrity and distinctiveness of their own, as well as performing a valuable landscape and recreational purpose, notably for the Nailsea/Backwell Gap for the setting of Backwell Lake and for the Yatton/Congresb

Strategic Gap What is the strategy behind having a Strategic Gap. There should be a good reason why there should be a gap at this point between Nailsea and Backwell. This is not explained. I think there would definitely be a reason in having a strategic gap between Causeway View and Tickenham Church and the village of Tickenham and Stone Edge Batch.
