The 2011 Census results highlight the fact that relative to North Somerset and the south west as a whole, Nailsea has a relative oversupply of 4-bed properties, and an undersupply of 1 and 2 bed properties. There needs to be more specific support for small to medium builders who are local and employ local workers. Sites or parcels of land which are suitable for up to say 5 or10 houses should be encouraged. Approving large developments for national builders will end in the awful sameness we see at Portishead and WSM.
