Comment | Policy DM48 Strategic Gaps Persimmon Homes object to Policy DM48 Strategic Gaps. The strategic gap policy is superfluous and adds little to Policy DM33. Land between Weston-super-Mare and nearby villages, such as Hutton, will be adequately protected by the effective application of Policy DM33. Persimmon Homes do not consider it necessary to identify strategic gaps in the Sites and Policies DPD, however, should the council be minded to retain the policy the extent of the strategic gap between Hutton and Winterstoke Village should be revised to reflect the area proposed for development at Weston Airfield. The settlement boundary and the strategic gap appear arbitrary, unreasonable and ill-considered and it would be much more realistic to define the settlement boundary consistent with the submitted application at Winterstoke Village. (See Plan) Change Sought to the Plan That the Proposals Map be revised to overcome the above objection in respect of Policy DM48 Strategic Gaps. |
