The North West Nailsea Protection Group was formed at a resident's meeting on 14th March 2013 where 60 people attended from across Nailsea. This response has been prepared by a committee that volunteered at that meeting. When the group made representations to Nailsea Town Council's Planning and Environment Committee meeting on 3rd April 2013 about 100 supporters attended. A) This policy should be deleted for the following reasons: 1) The rationale for policy NA2 appears to be Nailsea's Parish

The North West Nailsea Protection Group strongly support Nailsea Town Council's request for a greenbelt review. The Town Council has attempted, over many years, to have the bite of land at north east Nailsea taken out of the Green belt. It needs to be recognised that the green belt boundary around that bite was initially too tightly drawn around the town's urban boundary preventing uses of the bite that would make the town more sustainable. TIDAL AND RIVER FLOODING The proposals map shows current flood risk areas. These should be replaced by flood risk areas projected to allow for climate change as in map "ST47SE Existing and Future" on http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/Environment/Planning+policy/Local+Development+Framework/strategicfloodriskassessment.htm. The use of such projected risk maps would better reflect the risks to prospective home owners of buying a home whose value could collapse when the prospect of flooding gets nearer
