What is suggested at Churchill?

  • A new garden village of about 2,800 homes is proposed, with its own character and sense of identity, sensitively designed in relation to the local environment
  • Employment land well related to the new transport infrastructure
  • A green infrastructure network, including open space surrounding the new development to safeguard the identity of the existing villages
  • A local centre with a range of facilities
  • A new link to the A38 with improved junction at A368/A38
  • New foot and cycle links, including access to the Strawberry Line
  • Primary schools
  • Protection and enhancement of the greater and lesser horse shoe bat habitat
  • Bus service improvements to Bristol and Weston-super-Mare

Development near Churchill is regarded as a ‘garden village’. What do you think the important aspects of a garden village should be?

How can important heritage features in the older part of the village, at Windmill Hill and near the church be enhanced and protected? Are there other features that you value and feel need to be safeguarded?

A local centre is proposed in the development. Where is the best location so that new and existing residents can benefit?

What local links and connections should be provided or improved to create easy access to schools, recreation and facilities?
