In order to prevent ad hoc and inappropriate countryside development, our local settlement boundaries need to be rigorously maintained to avoid our local villages and hamlets merging together.  Indeed, NSC’s own Landscape Character supplementary guidelines support the preservation of the character and landscape of individual villages.  This principle is already being stretched by the two significant developments in Langford and elsewhere and, as indicated above, implementation of the Proposed Development would ride roughshod through it.

In order to prevent ad hoc and inappropriate countryside development, our local settlement boundaries need to be rigorously maintained to avoid our local villages and hamlets merging together.
