As much of the central parish area is constrained by floodplain this gives additional support to development in Banwell which is in flood zone 1.

Newland Homes do not object to the principle of Junction 21a but do have significant concerns regarding the timescales for bringing forward the new motorway junction and the impact that it will have on delivering the Spatial Strategy ie too late to assist with existing congestion issues at Jn 21.

Claverham should be combined within one settlement boundary with Yatton and the whole considered as a service village.

A combination of options should be allied to ensure that settlements are not unnecessarily. Banwell is one of the more sustainable service villages and is capable of accommodating more development.

Useful if an assessment had been made of numbers of houses brought forward as a result of CS 14 adjacent to settlement boundaries, so the success can be of the policy can be assessed.

The settlement boundary of Claverham should be reviewed to include the existing allocation of site D3 in the Claverham Neighbourhood Plan, the current allowance for 25 dwellings adjacent to settlement boundaries of service villages should be retained to allow for a second phase in the north field of around 25 dwellings.
