I do not believe that the consultation process has adequately engaged or collaborated with the local community in Nailsea (including surrounding areas that would also be affected by the plans), as is required by the National Planning Policy Framework, paragraph 155. I have seen no evidence that the plan reflects a collective vision for Nailsea. In contrast, I believe that the collective vision is very much against the level of new housing and the locations proposed.

I am also concerned about the Council stating in their responses to the Inspector regarding remitted Core Strategy policies that planning permissions would be granted on draft allocations. I understand that the housing delivery plan must be met, but I do not believe that this is a fair process, since once planning is granted on a site, there is effectively no consultation for that site. This also is against the National Planning Poicy Framework, paragraph 155, as noted above.

I have also spoken to several people who have struggled to make comments via the website, primarily due to finding it difficult to find the consultation page and to find the appropriate section to make a comment and generally finding the website confusing.
