I would like to express my concern about the proposed development on land at NW Nailsea and respectfully request that this proposal is deleted from the Site Allocation Plan March 2016.  

Along with many other Nailsea residents, I have written against previous proposed developments for this area over the past 10+ years and all the reasons for unsuitability for development of this part of Nailsea remain in place.  I note the recent communications from Nailsea Action Group with which I fully concur.

Whilst I recognise the need for more housing in Nailsea, large developments such as that planned for NW Nailsea, the Uplands and Engine Lane, in my opinion, would be detrimental to Nailsea's current residents and the town's future.  I support the smaller developments that have been taking place, eg Sycamore House, the former Four Oaks School site, the 14 flats currently being completed in the High Street, the flats being completed in the former Decades Nightclub, the planned starter homes on the Royal Oak Garage site, the new homes being built in Silver Street, and the development of the former Police Station site.

The former Nailsea Health Centre site, the old Esso Garage and, I suspect many more sites should be considered for smaller developments and perhaps sites for larger housing developments should be built abutting existing good road links such as the A370 and the M5.
