We are writing to you with regard to proposal of new housing on land to the west of Engine Lane, Uplands and North West Nailsea.  Having lived in this area for the last 27 years we strongly object to any houses being built for the following reasons.

1. These sites would have very poor access to the Town Centre and beyond.

2. They are a long way from all services, amenities and the main shopping area.

3. Nailsea would not provide enough employment for all these new residents.

4. This is turn would increase commuter pressure on all local roads for those employed in Bristol.

5. Some of this land was sold to North Somerset Council with a covenant prohibiting residential development.

6. The land to the North West will extend the flood risk area into this proposed site.

We fully appreciate the need to identify new housing development in North Somerset but strongly feel that these sites are wholly unsuitable.
