Nailsea Town Council | 14 Jun 2016 | Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Nailsea Land south of The Uplands
The Town Council objects to the proposal for 100 dwellings as being major over-development. It reiterates its concerns regarding development having appropriate density, size and design in keeping with the existing character of the area

I would like yo object to building purposal at the Uplands in Nailsea, I use this field everyday to walk my dog and meet friends,, I have health problems and try to keep as fit as I can, as do a lot of people I meet there who also have health problems, I know this field is in constant use to all age groups, I see runners, dog walkers, the young playing ball, in summer the field can be active with people doing sport.. if you remove the use of this field it would be a great loss to all age groups

The number of houses proposed for Nailsea will have a major impact on local amenities and services.

The land south of the uplands is used by dog walkers and should be designated as Local Green Space.

I am regular (almost daily) user of the land south of the Uplands. It is the most convenient site where my dogs can safely be let off the lead.
I agree with all the comments by other respondents relating to access to the site, traffic issues in getting to the site from other parts of Nailsea, the overdevelopment of a beautiful area, resultant drainage issues from building etc, and I do not need to repeat this.

NSUA records clarify that the Council's acquisition of the fields was for Public Open Space, and that the County Highways Engineer confirmed access is inadequate for further development.

The proposals do not take account of some key considerations which are detailed and evidenced in the attached documents.
