Nailsea is unsuitable to accommodate more development at its western boundary due to poor access to the town centre, lack of services , loss of open spaces , minimal employment opportunities , poor road network, landscape impact , loss of high quality agricultural land, loss of biodiversity and flood risk.

I would like to note my opposition to the proposed construction of new houses in the Engine Lane area of Nailsea.
Firstly this will impact on local school places and GP appointments which are already very hard to get.
The size of the lanes around the area of build are not able to take hundreds of more cars that would be on the roads due to rhe new houses.
The loss of the green areas in particular The Uplands where we walk our dogs and take our children to play and have picnics.

We have concerns around the proposed number of houses in Nailsea
The roads are unsuitable to carry the increased amount of traffic. No provision was made to access the motorway or A370 except via country roads.
There is no infrastucture eg shops, bus service GPs , in the area and pavements towards the town centre are not continuous.
With reference to the proposed development at the Uplands site, this area is used extensively by not only dog walkers, but families to enjoy their leisure time.

Brockley Parish Council | 28 Apr 2016 | Site Allocations Plan March 2016 PUT FORWARD A SITE OR MAKE GENERAL COMMENTS General comments for Nailsea
The Brockley Parish Council has no objection to the Sites Allocation Plan but would like to raise the following concern. The proposed 865 homes to be built in Nailsea will result in a significant increase in traffic in and out of the town, some of this will be on the country lanes through the parish of Brockley as people access the A370. These lanes already carry a large volume of traffic and it is our opinion that these lanes can not safely or practically carry the additional traffic.
