Persimmon Homes Severn Valley (PHSV) have promoted and led the development of the Weston Business Quarter and are supportive of initiatives to introduce additional employment on other land within the Business Quarter. However there are outstanding issues relating to the land which would be subject to the Draft Development Order which affect PHSV interests and which will need to be resolved before the Order can have any effect.

Highways England does have some concerns as to the fact that there are a wide ranging number of uses within the use classes B1, B2 and B8 that potentially could deliver vastly different trip rates. Queries over size thresholds and evidence base.

Portishead Town Council considers that this local development Order would give Weston preferential treatment as it is being prioritised for business growth to the detriment of Portishead which is the second largest town in North Somerset. Portishead Town Council cannot support this proposal.

Weston-super-Mare Town Council fully support North Somerset Council with the proposed LDO and also the Food and Drink Innovation Centre itself which will help to improve the profile of this enterprise area as a business location (JCT 21 Enterprise Area) and will help to support economic growth.

The Environment Agency can support the LDO approach, however it should be noted that upon completion of the super pond we would have no flood risk interest apart from Standing Advice.

Clevedon Town Council consider it is fundamentally wrong to encourage preferential development anywhere in North Somerset by simplifying the planning requirements for a designated area.
