We strongly support his policy in view of the fundamental importance of Green Infrastructure to delivering sustainable communities.

Criterion 5 - We are unsure what is meant by the term "Wildlife Sites" in this instance. We assume that it relates to all statutory and non statutory biodiversity designations?

Paragraph 3.155 makes reference to the inclusion of local open space standards. This is a welcome concept and we would prefer to see it translate into policy with a requirement for development to contribute.

Natural England has developed a series of Accessible Natural Greenspace Standards (ANGST) and encourages all local authorities to adopt them as a long term aspiration for all citizens. We recommend the authority consider the inclusion of the ANGST standards within the Core Strategy, at least as a requirement for all new development.
