The Policy endorses the employment led approach of this CS, to ensure there is a balance between new residential and employment growth, leading to a greater degree of self-containment within the Town. This general approach is endorsed, subject to matters referred to above (Policies CS13 and 14).
Encouragingly, the Policy does recognise the potential for new jobs to be delivered from land uses outside of the 'B' use Classes, and through other regeneration proposals ie involving leisure/tourism/retail.
The Policy identifies the broad locations for new employment provision, primarily as part of the Airfield urban extension, but also within the Town Centre/Gateway Area.
AGM Holdings Limtied have a significant land interest within the Gateway Area, and recognise its ability to support major employment development, as part of any mixed use proposal for this site (as referred to later in the representations).
Suggested Amendment: Policy to emphasise the need for employment led proposals at the Airfield and Gateway sites, over and above those on the Seafront.
