Comment | CS28 (Weston-super-Mare) It is not clear why the Council is specifically referring to development east of the M5. This wording is ambiguous and not necessary. The requirement as proposed by CS14 which states that ‘Development outside the settlement boundaries will only be acceptable where a site is allocated in a Local Plan or where it comprises sustainable development.’ will be an effective policy tool to resist inappropriate development. Logically the settlement boundary for Weston-super-Mare will also need to be amended to reflect any other development approved under Policy CS14 which is not classed as being part of the Weston Villages. The following amendments are therefore considered necessary to Policy CS28: PROPOSED AMENDMENTS SET OUT IN ATTACHMENT
