Comment | Policy DM35 Housing Type and Mix Persimmon Homes object to Policy DM35 Housing type and Mix. Persimmon Homes note that the emphasis at Weston Villages should be on family housing to meet the needs of those working in the town, although a range of accommodation is required to meet all ages, household sizes, choices and tenures. Persimmon Homes welcome the emphasis on family homes at the Weston Villages but specifically object to the inclusion of the wording ‘to meet the needs of those working in the town’. It is an unreasonable restriction on the housebuilder to expect new family housing to be solely designed to meet the needs of those already working in the town. There is no restriction, in a free market, as to who can buy a new house and they should be designed accordingly, without undue restriction, at Weston Villages or anywhere else in North Somerset.
Change Sought to the Plan That Policy DM35 be revised to overcome the above objection. |
