The number of houses proposed for Nailsea will have a major impact on local amenities and services. Doctors surgeries are already full as are the infant and junior schools, particularly Hannah More which will need to serve the majority of new homes proposed in the plan. The senior school has been recently rebuilt with spare capacity but I understand many Nailsea students appear to prefer being educated at Backwell School which is now at maximum capacity.

Nailsea Town Council are currently trying to regenerate the shopping centre by increasing the footfall from within and outside the town. At peak times the car parks in Nailsea are currently full therefore this measure will be counter productive if visitors have nowhere to park. An increase in the population located on the very outskirts of the town will put even more pressure on the roads and car parks as the car will be the preferred form of transportation. Reference here can also be made to the public outcry made when Lidl announced plans to build a store on a main car park in the town but were forced to change their minds.
