If St. Marys Grove becomes a main traffic artery with, as I understand it, some sort of traffic calming system, then I fear the Uplands would become another “Traffic Rat Run” for frustrated motorists.
I have always understood the field behind the Uplands to be Public Open Space since 1976 when an application to build 60 houses was refused by the then council. I suggest the Open Space should immediately be declared a Local Green Space,

Having looked at the site from an ordinary watercourse, surface water and ground water flooding point of view we have the following comments:
Drainage Category 1 - Easily drained and sustainable drainage could be implemented easily
Reason – Infiltration may be possible with some constraints

I object to the loss of the Public Open Space and the effect of the proposed developments on the infrastructure of the area.

Object to the proposals for large scale residential development on land currently valued by the local community as public open space. The land has been subject to a previous planning application which refused permission on grounds that remain as true today; i) Access required over narrow residential roads, ii) unacceptable impact on the countryside, iii) unacceptable development of land designated as public open space, iv) the area is outside the area for main drainage provision.
