If someone asks how your marriage is and you say "it's sustainable" how does that compare with saying "it's revitalising"?
We need to be talking about sustainable development in a way which everyone understands means "give back more than you take" or "leaving things better than we found it".
When you read about SD "balancing economic, social and environmental" people usually understand this to mean one is at the expense of the other. It gives developers a way out to say, listen let's balance t

The local plan is fundamentally flawed throughout as it only focuses on housing needs and employment requirements. It fails to actually consider transport corridors to, and from these developments. and just touches upon enhanced public transport. BAL is broadly supportive of the proposed Local Plan vision and strategic priorities. However, we consider that the vision could be more ambitious in terms of its aspirations for the economy of North Somerset by providing express support for existing businesses in the plan area and recognising the unique and important role that international gateways such as Bristol Airport can play in securing the future economic and social success of North Somerset and the wider region. This could be achieved
