But noe enough done to recognise identity of villages like Winscombe which I fear will become part of a ribbon housing development if the bypass is built.

In your documentation you write "Proposals which fail to demonstrate that they have effectively assessed all of these requirements will not normally be permitted." I propose the amendment: "Proposals which fail to demonstrate that they have effectively assessed all of these requirements will not be accepted for consideration". i.e. don't leave the door open for non-compliant applications,.

The definition for Active Travel provided in the Glossary should specifically say "prioritising cycling for commuting". NS should provide evidence of having considered how proposed allocated sites will encourage healthy lifestyles and encourage active travel and have a clear strategy to deliver on this through the site specific Travel Plan which links clearly to the Transport and other sections of the draft Local Plan.

builders should be made to incorporate heat pumps, insulation etc to new houses. And yes they should be attractive and different! and not ALL 3 - 4 bedroom houses. More houses for the elderly to downsize to. More one bed apartments for younger people and couples. And estates should include hedges, trees etc to encourage wildlife. If possible there should be swallow boxes and bee boxes incorporated in to new housing. I don't understand how if I want to change something in my house I jump through

Have been impressed with recent ideas and projects on Placemaking from NSC. Please try and reduce the influence of the big developers who are only interested in their profits and big bonuses for their bosses.

The supporting text "Proposals should demonstrate how they have maximised opportunities for physical activity and recreation including active travel through the design of private and public spaces and green and blue infrastructure" should be in the policy

Need to ensure that developers provide high quality housing which fits with the character of existing developments. Do not want a peace meal "hotch potch" of styles. Houses should be limited to 2 stories in keeping with the rest of the town.
