North Somerset Local Plan 2038 Preferred Options

North Somerset Local Plan 2038 Preferred Options: Consultation Draft

North Somerset Council has created a new draft local plan and residents, community group, businesses and other interested parties now have their chance to give their views.

The draft Local Plan sets out the councils preferred options for delivering the number of new homes and associated infrastructure such as schools, transport and other facilities that are needed in North Somerset up to 2038.

The Preferred Options plan also contains policies which guide many types of development and will be used to decide planning applications. The Local Plan has been developed following two previous consultations on the Challenges and Choices in 2020, latest government guidance and the councils commitment to addressing the climate and nature emergency .

The consultation on the draft Local Plan 2038 runs from Monday 14 March until 5pm Friday 29 April. To help local communities respond and understand the implications of the Plan for their local area we will be holding a variety of virtual and face-to-face consultation events over the consultation period. All the details and documents are available at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/newlocalplan
