The HCA provides further comments with regards to the flood strategy for the Weston Regeneration Area in response to Policy CS30 below. In summary, the HCA wishes to ensure that sites outside of the areas identified at being at risk of flooding (such as Locking Parklands) are not unduly burdened by requirements to fund mitigation measures for sites that do fall within areas in zones 2 and 3. The HCA also recommends that further recognition is given within the policy to allow development in areas of flood risk to be considered (subject to any required assessment and mitigation measures) where essential for regeneration, or where necessary to meet the development requirements of the RSS.
The HCA reserves the right to make further comments on the approach to flood risk within the Weston Regeneration Area, until the publication of the SPD for the Weston Regeneration Area.
