Comment | We have no specific comments to make regarding the wording of Policy CS6. By implementing such a policy, however, the Core Strategy must recognise that some development will be required on greenfield sites within, and adjoining, the main towns and service villages. This is magnified given the Council's opposition to development in South West Bristol and the recognition in the Council's Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) (December 2008) that development opportunities within Portishead, Clevedon and Nailsea are limited. We would also re-emphasise that there is no policy backing, at a regional or national level, for designating new green belt land purely to compensate for other areas that are being removed from the designation. |
