Seeks early and continuing engagement with development planning. Already involved in Weston Regeneration Area. Clear agenda and commitment needed for the requirement of sustainable transport for all new developments. Any significant additional development, delivered without the support of the necessary infrastructure improvements and investment in public transport, would increase congestion and therefore have an adverse impact on the strategic road network.

Infrastructure Delivery Plan needed urgently so that policy is in place to justify promotion of the required infrastructure improvements across the District. Delivery Plan needs to consider all known funding mechanisms, including current transport bids for improvement schemes, to provide necessary mitigation measures on the strategic road network.

We believe that better collaboration across the boundary with Bristol City Council, is a prerequisite for more sustainable growth and development in North Somerset. Whilst we are encouraged by the recent publication of a Multi Area Agreement, and the current work being undertaken to prepare a single conversation Joint Investment Plan, it is important this joint working produces clear outcomes in the emerging Core Strategies.

Yatton Parish Council wonder as NSC has no infrastructure delivery plan, when will that plan be completed and when projects listed on page 58 will take place. Councillors wished to ask how is this to take place when funding for this organisation is being cut back?

Western Power Distribution has a number of strategic electricity distribution circuits (which can operate at 132,000 Volts, 66,000 Volts and 33,000 Volts) in some of the area's being considered for development. These circuits run both underground and as overhead lines.
Generally, Western Power Distribution would expect developers of a site to pay to divert less strategic electricity circuits operating at 11,000 Volts (11kV) or below.

The Core Strategy must be delivered alongside a realistic Delivery Plan. The CS document on its own will be viewed simply as another local authority wish-list lacking a firm credability that residents of NS are sadly all to familiar with.
